“Committing to a health and diet plan and starting new habits has been a difficult process for me, especially in a culture that makes it so easy to make bad health choices. Melissa allowed me to lead myself and taught me to ask the right questions to nourish myself rather than obsess or judge. I learned to ask questions like, “how do I feel today” and “what is that craving really about” more important than, “how many calories is that?” or “do I really want that bagel?”
Melissa was also vary accommodating of my busy schedule — I love to cook, but couldn’t make the time. Melissa’s ability to go at my pace; not pushing me too hard too quickly or holding me back instead being there to help me feel much more “plugged in” to the process of cooking. Her recipes are geared towards all skill levels and don’t take a lot of time.
“Sorry this took so long! Melissa saved my life. I went to the
doctor’s and my triglyceride levels are NORMAL! Thanks to her.
What’s more, she has given me a new way of looking at food.
I will always remember what she’s done for me, and will always hear
her voice in the back of my head saying ‘That’s not a whole food!'”
“Melissa Gellert has cooked for me for over five years when I am
living in NY. She prepares healthy organic food for me. She offers
suggestions for menu ideas and is always open to trying new dishes.
She is punctual, amiable, kind, professional, neat, organized and more
importantly, LOVES to cook. She is very conscientious, and is always
wanting feed back on something new she prepared. She is constantly
open to trying new recipes and cares deeply about preparing food that
I will love.
She has an impressive knowledge of organic foods and ingredients, and
I have learned much about eating healthy from her.
It is a luxury to have a personal chef, and it is the one luxury I’m
grateful for and would not to without.”
